PARTNERSHIP AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
COMPETITION
Objectives:
- To successfully develop and deliver the 'School Games' to partner schools
- To provide a competition calendar of events for year 1 through to 11
- To ensure that the Colchester-Blackwater SSP send a representative to level 3 county competitions
Measurable outcomes:
- At least 50% of schools signed up to the School Games by April 2012
- To deliver 16 SSP primary competitions, 12 secondary competitions and 8 secondary leagues by 2012
- To send a representative to the majority of the 26 level 3 county competitions which conclude in July 2012
HEALTH
To encourage young people to lead healthy, active lifestyles and to create opportunities for the least active.
Objectives:
- To run childhood obesity intervention programmes within our partner schools
- To set up and establish Change 4 Life sports clubs in life opportunity schools
- To increase schools and parents awareness of the sport and leisure programmes that are provided by Colchester Borough Council to increase activity levels in young people
Measurable outcomes:
- To set up 10 Change 4 Life clubs in our primary partner schools by April 2012 and maintain the current 4 in secondary schools
- CBC invited to all SSP primary events. Email evidence that CBC mailings are sent out to teacher release posts to cascade information to partner schools every half term
- Leadership packs distributed to primary schools and INSET opportunities provided so staff are able to use them effectively by April 2012
- JPLA training delivered to children/staff/MDAs by July 2012
LEADERSHIP
To provide support, guidance and opportunities for young people and teachers who wish to develop their knowledge of leadership, coaching and officiating.
Objectives:
- To provide opportunities for young leaders and volunteers to help at events on the partnership competition calendar
- To establish opportunities for young leaders to organise and deliver structured activities within an event
- To support primary schools in delivering the junior play leaders award (JPLA) to their pupils
- To encourage leadership training in key stage 1 and lower key stage 2 by providing training and advice on using the partnership's leadership packs.
Measurable outcomes:
- To provide each secondary school with at least 2 opportunities to provide leaders at SSP events by July 2012
- Young leaders to plan and lead warm-up activities in all events they attend
- At least 50% of schools to be delivering Junior Play Leaders award to their pupils by July 2012
- To provide an INSET opportunity on leadership for primary staff by July 2012
To raise standards of pupils achievement by providing opportunities for teachers to access INSET training.
