Bikeability is the Government approved National Standard for cycle training designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today's roads. There are three Bikeability levels and children will be encouraged and inspired to achieve all three levels, recognising that there is always more to learn and to enjoy on a bike. For more information please visit www.bikeability.org.uk The Bikeability project is now in its second year and we are looking to further develop the programme and increase the number of students accessing the free Level 2 courses available. During the last academic year over 500 Year 6 students successfully reached level 2 and now with more trained Bikeability instructors in the local area we are capable of delivering to many more. Every primary school in our Partnership has the opportunity to access training for their Year 6 students. Colchester-Blackwater School Sport Partnership (SSP) is collaborating with Colchester Borough Council (CBC) in order to offer Bikeability free of charge to all schools. In order to streamline the delivery schools have been clustered into two groups depending on whether they are inside Colchester town or not. Free Bikeability courses are being offered to schools inside Colchester town by CBC whilst schools outside the town will be offered free courses by the SSP. The SSP are currently offering 2 methods of delivery to schools as outlined below:
If you would like to apply for either of the above options please use your login details to access the registered users area where you will be able to download further details and a Bikeability application form.
