The Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to lead small groups in simple sport and recreational activities whilst under the direct supervision of their Tutor. Tutor training usually takes place each year at Essex University and can be part funded by the SSP.
The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport. It is a fun and practical qualification with no entrance requirements or final examinations to sit.
Age - 14+ (please note, there is no upper age limit for this qualification)
Guided Learning Hours - 30 hours (plus one hour demonstration of leadership)
Cost - £13.80 candidate registration £65.50 Tutor Resource Pack (this can be provided by the SSP)
